This project has not been going at all as planned. I find my days lately being consumed with pregnancy brain fog and a new obsession of constant snacking (on strange things) to try to ward off morning sickness. That’s not a complaint, just a reality. In fact, although I don’t physically feel good most of the time, it makes me so happy to think of the reason I’m not feeling good – there’s a new life growing inside of me!

Right now, my baby is the size of a lime and moving it’s little arms and legs around like crazy. I can’t feel it, but that’s what the experts say. And my belly is growing – just starting to show a little. I’m truly in awe of the process and what my body can do.

And so, these lasts few months have been a huge lesson on letting go and practicing patience with myself. I have not been successful with my Project 300, in that I’ve only made art a few days of the last couple months. I’ve been lazier than I ever have before in my life. It’s been a struggle to accept that I’m not able to reach the goals I’ve set for myself right now, but I’m learning to practice forgiveness with myself. So I suppose, in a way, the project has been successful – since starting, I have had to learn to give myself more adorations and affirmations internally than ever before, in order to come to terms with not meeting my goals.

I tell myself things like:

I am perfect just as I am.

I am bringing love to this world.

My only job is to radiate that beautiful light and joy I have into the world.

All that I need will come to me at the right time and place in this life.

I am patient. I forgive myself. I have done great things today, no matter how big or small.

I am creating new life inside me and that is amazing!

And I do think that those little mantras have helped. I’m curious, have you ever had a strong lesson in practicing self-forgiveness? If so, what are some of the things you did to ease up on yourself?  Do you find it’s easier to forgive other people than yourself? (I’m guilty of this quite often).

Yesterday morning I woke up feeling fairly decent and decided to take advantage of it by finishing up a hand-lettering project I started a while back – Shine Bright Like A Diamond! I’ve really been enjoying the hand-lettering and the process of “painting” these in Photoshop. This colorful print is now available in my Society6 shop and also comes on some cool throw pillows, shirts, and iPhone covers!
