I don’t know what it is about  this time of year, but get the most comforting feeling when the weather changes and the temperatures drop. And it’s strange, because I don’t like being cold. It’s probably due to the nostalgia I have for Christmas and the good things that come along with it: family, relaxing, hearty food, warm drinks. There’s a drawing in and a bigger focus on connection and giving.

This time of the year embodies the characteristics that I try to nurture in my life, through my art, and on this blog.

I’m very excited because my brother is coming into town from Chicago tomorrow and him and my mom will be here for almost the whole week! I can’t wait to show him around. We have plans to go rock-climbing in Cochise Stronghold, have dinner in Bisbee, check-out Tombstone, hike, relax, chat over incredible coffee my husband roasts himself, and enjoy our time together.

There’s been a buzz of cleaning and preparing going on around the house, but I’ve still managed to squeeze in some art. In fact, I somehow managed to make a few new pieces that I really like. I’m having the most fun painting on these mini-canvases. I feel like I could paint little canvases until my eyes pop out of my head. I’m loving it!

Here is a peek at what I’ve been up to…

I’m selling these little gems in my shop too!

As the year comes to and end, I’m also thinking about all of the things I want to accomplish next year. I have some plans to take big steps forward come January! In the next few weeks, you can expect to hear about a book I’m reading that is opening my eyes to possibility, a project I am totally stoked about, my goals for the upcoming year and how I hope to achieve them, and I’ll direct you to an exciting new e-book that I had the pleasure of doing the graphic design work for! Exciting times my friends!!!
