Lilla Rogers Global Talent Search Final Journal Design

The moment of truth arrived on August first and I set off to my e-mail with trepidation to see if I had been chosen as one of the Top 50 for the Global Talent Search. I scrolled up and down and up and down the finalists, hoping I had missed my submission, but unfortunately it was not there.  That moment stung. It stung for a good long while that day. It’s my dream to have Lilla Rogers be my agent.

After I had a while to process it all, I realized a few things. First, this is just the beginning of my journey and artist career. New doors will open and I have a lot to be excited about right now. All is not lost, and I can still (and will) contact her separately about representation. Second, I learned so, so much during this process. I learned what a professional design brief is like. I learned more about my style. And I learned a new technique. I learned what I am capable of and I’m proud of my design.

I’m over the disappointment hump and I will continue to forge forward, further developing my style and looking for other opportunities. Plus, my recent collaborations and projects are keeping me pretty busy! I know fun things are in store. 🙂
