Four Thieves is a historic folk germ-fighting recipe that possibly originated from the early 1400’s. The story says that during the Bubonic Plague, a group of thieves was stealing money from dead bodies without becoming sick themselves. When they were finally caught, in exchange for their life, they were asked to share their secret of how they were able to survive for so long without getting sick. They then described their secret recipe of herbs that they applied to their hands, ears, temples, feet, and under their nose beneath their mask.

It is said that from then on, doctors who treated the Black Death used this herbal infusion in a similar manner to the thieves. Regardless of whether this entire story is true or not, the herbs included in Four Thieves recipes are well known for their antimicrobial actions and these blends are still beloved today.

ORGANIC INGREDIENTS: Essential oils of Lemon, Clove Bud, Eucalyptus Globulus, Cinnamon Cassia and Rosemary 1,8-cineole diluted in fractionated coconut oil at 3.5%.

Lemon: Refreshing, cheerful, uplifting, cold-pressed extraction method that is 100% pure with no fillers or additives

Clove Bud: Warming, soothing, comforting, steam distilled from the dried flower buds of the clove plant to produce a 100% pure essential oil

Eucalyptus Globulus: Revitalizing, invigorating, clarifying, one of the world’s most familiar essential oils widely known to help with respiratory problems

Cassia Cinnamon: Warming, comforting, energizing, steam distilled from the bark of the Chinese Cinnamon tree

Rosemary 1,8-Cineole: Purifying, uplifting, stimulating

These oils are properly diluted for application to the skin in an organic coconut oil base and contained in a roller bottle for easy application.
