The Wild Woman is not a rebel for rebellion’s sake. She is simply a woman finding her way back.

This is what TulipTree Review’s eighth annual Wild Women issue is about. And it is why I am so honored to have my poem Sophia living inside these pages.

Sophia — the Greek word for wisdom, the divine feminine knowing that has been with us since the beginning — is a poem born from my own reckoning with that return. A return to earth, to embodied knowing, to the original wisdom we carry in our bones long before anyone told us who we were supposed to be.

This literary journal gathers fiction, nonfiction, and poetry from writers all reaching toward that same wild truth, and I am deeply proud to be among them.
