My internet was out all day yesterday. I have to admit that my first inclination was “great, now I’m not going to get anything done” but let me tell you, it was a blessing in disguise. It made me realize just how much time I spend (waste) doing silly things online, like checking my e-mail 50 times a day. Not having that temptation and obligatory feeling that I “should be doing something” instigated a day of production and a peacefulness. I was able to set out a big chunk of uninterrupted time to just create and I didn’t feel guilty about it!

With all that time, I decided to try something new. I used my hand lettering and Photoshop to create these digital paintings, rather than my usual use of Adobe Illustrator. I’m loving the results and I know I am going to want to make more of these. They have a sort of watercolor feel to them and were totally fun to create.

These paintings are also available as prints, pillows and more at my Society6 shop. Plus, they are running a free shipping promotion that goes until Sunday!
